Addiction to Printed Materials

by MCA Designs on March 11, 2010

I have an addiction to printed materials. The fabric you see here – fell in love with it the first time I laid eyes on it. I’ve been using this fabric in a quilt that I’ve been working on. It’s Moda’s “Make Life” by Sweetwater.

Actually, I’ve been working on several quilts and some other items that I plan to sell, but I like this fabric so much, I’ve grown emotionally attached to the quilt. Just to appease myself, I made a quilted camera strap cover out of the same fabric. The future MCA Designs Etsy Shop will carry several of these camera strap covers, just in case you adore this fabric too.

To help feed my addiction, the internet houses many discount fabric stores. (What did we do before online shopping?) I’ve ordered fabric from several sites lately – The Sproutz Store, Down Shadow Lane, Fabric Shoppe – just to name a few. @thepleatedpoppy recommended Hawthorne Threads to me. Let me just say that I think I have died and gone to heaven! Also, I may have overdosed in this shop.

I do plan to put the fabrics to good use, though. Hopefully, very soon, I’ll have enough inventory to open the store.

If you have a favorite fabric store, I’d love for you to share it with the creative blog readers in the comments below. (As if my addiction needs further encouragement!) Okay, come on, enable us!
