Recently, my mom asked me to help her recycle a personalized bath wrap. She originally ordered the bath wrap for my niece for Christmas. When Parker opened her gift and held it up, we realized that the wrong size had been sent.
What do we do with it now? It’s too cute to use as a cleaning rag. It’s unlikely that it would sell on ebay, since we don’t know many (any) other girls named Parker. In order to give it to someone else, the stitching would need to be removed. My mom had one special little girl in mind for this gift, so she got out her seam ripper.
And as she began to rip out the stitching, holes began to form in the towel. That’s when she got me involved in the project. She asked me if I could put a pocket or something on it that would hide the name. Of course!
So, I put a square pocket-sized patch on the back to cover the stitching and holes on that side. This fabric is from the On A Whim II collection by Amy Schimler for Robert Kaufman.
Then, I put a cute little pocket on the front in the same spot. Now, we have a bath wrap that is perfect for a much smaller little girl who is not named Parker.
Do have any mistakes, mishaps, or stained clothing and accessories that you’ve been able to recycle or re-purpose? I have a favorite shirt that is stained. My wheels are turning now, trying to come up with a way to salvage it.
